Who I am

Since retiring from teaching Drama in secondary schools in Glasgow, I have been heavily involved in promoting the arts in communities around the central belt.

"If life is for living, it is worth celebrating".

This is what drew me to becoming a celebrant with Humanist Society Scotland. It is a privilege to assist others in creating their own bespoke celebration, whatever the occasion. I am a member of a growing extended family. Currently known as GUK (Great Uncle Kevin) to an increasing army of the next generation. GUK is one of the best roles I have played to date, coming a close second to being a father of three.

What I do

I have been a member of Humanist Society Scotland for nearly 10 years. I believe wholeheartedly in celebrating the one life we live and treating others with compassion, as we would have them treat us, regardless of who they are. I volunteer with Humanist Society Scotland visiting schools to talk about humanism and the work we do, distributing food to the homeless.
